Justin Moore Begins Recording New Album
Fast-rising country star Justin Moore has been talking about his next album for a while now, and it seems the 'Bait a Hook' singer is getting started before the new year. He announced via Twitter on Wednesday (Dec. 19) that he was headed into the studio to begin work on new recordings.
"Day 1 recording album #3! Can't wait to get new music out for y'all" Moore tweeted early in the day. The 28-year-old singer recently saw his sophomore album 'Outlaws Like Me' go gold on the strength of hit singles like 'If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away,' 'Bait a Hook' and ''Til My Last Day,' but he admitted in October that he was still not sure about the direction for his next studio effort.
"It’s funny because the first two albums, I knew exactly what I was going for," he told Taste of Country. "I think they’re similar, but I don’t think they’re exactly the same. This time, I’m just kind of scratching my head. I’ve written a bunch of songs for it, and the songs that I write will obviously dictate the direction of it, but I had a pretty solid idea of what I wanted the last two to be. I’m kind of confused on this one. That’s something that will hopefully come to me one day."
One thing we might reasonably expect is more love songs mixed in with his trademark brand of down-home country. Moore professed surprise at how well ''Til My Last Day' was received. "I’m always going to do what got me to the point where I’m at, but you always have to continue to grow as an artist and do different stuff," he observed. "I don’t want people getting bored, so I can see us doing some other stuff in this vein."
After several successful touring seasons opening for the likes of Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Brad Paisley, Moore is slated to undertake his first headlining tour in March.
