Texas Water Park Beloved By Residents Getting A Massive Makeover
A Popular Texas Water Park Is Closed For The Summer But When It Reopens, It Will Have An Amazing New Look!
Summer is getting closer to wrapping up and as everyone makes their last ditch attempts to hit attractions like waterparks and theme parks before school returns, one North Texas city is shutting their waterpark down early to get a jump on its massive plan to renovate the park.
Surf & Swim, a city-owned water park in Garland that's been open for four decades, is getting a complete makeover.
Surf & Swim Garland is shutting down for the 2024 season but when residents come back in 2026 they will have a brand new experience and so much more to do as a $25 Million dollar makeover is set to begin.
According to WFAA, the new Surf & Swim will feature a winding lazy river, leisure pool, aquatic playground and children’s pool along with three new waterslides and shade structures. A party room for celebrating birthdays and other events will be available, along with a concession stand.
The project is slated for completion in April 2026.
The existing Surf & Swim facility which sits on 3 acres and was built in 1984, will be demolished. Fort Worth-based Fain Group, who has gained a reputation for water park construction, will be constructing the project.
So mark your calendars for summer 2026 to check out the new and improved Surf & Swim in Garland.
