Houstonian Creates Safe Hugging Device for Nursing Homes
With the restrictions of the current COVID-19 pandemic, residents of nursing home have become very isolated and it's very sad. Imagine not being able to hug your mom order dad for four months.

In a story reported by KPRC2 Click2Houston, Steven Crenshaw and his wife, Amber, who work at Unlimited Love Cottages of the Woodlands created 'The Hugging Booth'
The couple came up with the idea after COVID-19 restrictions became tighter on nursing homes. The 'Hugging Booth' is a a slab of plexiglass later with holes and specialty sleeves. It will allow you to walk up and hug someone that’s inside, you’re able to stick your arms through these holes.
We all take hugs for granted, but for some, during this pandemic, a hug with your parents or grandparents just cant' happen.
Hugs are very important and have so many benefits, not just for Seniors, but for everyone.

Hugging helps lower our stress throughout the day: Simply through the act of hugging, our brains can produce soothing chemicals that help us feel more safe and less threatened throughout the day.
Hugs can also give our immune system a healthy boost: A study found that people who were hugged and felt socially supported also experienced less severe signs of sickness.
A few good squeezes could lead to decreased depression: People who received three or more hugs per day felt less depressed, had more energy, could concentrate easier and slept better.
