Fiesta San Antonio Postponed Until November

KSAT.com has added another cancellation to the list of events in south Texas and it's another big one.

You know that this one is a big deal as Fiesta San Antonio has been a regular ongoing event since 1891. It's the city's largest party of the year which brings hundreds of thousands of people to San Antonio not to mention the $340 million that it brings to the San Antonio economy. The 11-day long party is now being planned for November (5 through 15th) of 2020.

The only other times the city has had to cancel the event was in 1918 during World War I, and during World War II from 1942 to 1945 according to the Fiesta Commission. 

So far the consensus seems to be that by the fall of 2020, enough time will have gone by to allow the virus to subside. Many of the March/April cancellations are looking at the fall as a potential time to reschedule.

San Antonio Mayor Ron Nirenberg made the cancellation announcement this morning at a SA news conference.
