Drug Cartel Activities Are Being Reported in the Crossroads
Please stay vigilant, Crossroads, as the Lavaca County Sheriff's Department warns citizens of drug cartel activities. According to a post on the department's official Facebook page, cartel operatives are actively looking to steal trucks that will be used to smuggle drugs and illegal aliens.
Crossroads residents are encouraged to remain vigilant and secure their belongings.
Unfortunately, this has happened in the area before in 2021, also in Lavaca County. Please stay vigilant and be sure you secure your vehicles, buildings, and other valuables. Lastly, if you see something, say something. Reports should be made by calling 361-798-2121.
All resources are being used to combat these activities.
The Lavaca County Sheriff's Office is currently working alongside the Operation of Lone Star Task Force, the DEA, ERO, ICE, HIS, USMS, and the HIDTA Task Force. They are providing proactive enforcement, not only in Lavaca County but also in the surrounding counties.
Border Patrol agents are a common occurrence in Victoria County.

In fact, if you drive south on Highway 59 from Victoria, there is a good chance you will see agents in South Victoria County and in Goliad County. It is actually quite common.
