Gobblers and Commanches Prepare for Semifinal Match-Ups

Luke Bryan fans are lovin' the superstar's latest single "Huntin' and Fishin' and Lovin' Every Day" to the tune of a big Showdown win over Kelsea Ballerini over the weekend. The latest single from Kill the Lights nabbed nearly 60 percent of the Showdown vote to set up a battle with another country boy that doesn't care for the letter "G."

It's shaping up to be a fight between two of country music's most promising female artists, as current Showdown champ Kalie Shorr and acclaimed singer-songwriter Brandy Clark square off today and over the weekend.

Steven Tyler is just one win away from the Hall of Fame with his sophomore country single — but he's facing a very tough challenge from one of the hottest young artists in country music.

Two new songs square off in today's Showdown as "Think of You," the new single from Chris Young, gets retired to the Showdown Hall of Fame. Charles Kelley and Cole Swindell both have new music on the radio. The two ballads are very different, and the two artists represent very different fan bases.

Eric Church's fans turned out in droves to help him secure a Showdown win over Dan + Shay's latest single. Now the singer-songwriter will go head-to-head with one of country's greatest vocalists, Trisha Yearwood.

Jerrod Niemann and his fans seem up for any challenge. Earlier this week, the singer's new song 'Drink to That All Night' took care of 'I Hold On' by Dierks Bentley. It was a close contest, but in the end, a push from the Kansas-born singer's fans moved the song to a new Showdown round against a song famous for being part of a television commercial.

Gary Allan's powerful new song 'It Ain't the Whiskey' has stormed through its first two rounds of Showdown competition, but today's challenger might be a more imposing obstacle. Earlier this week, Allan's track took 86 percent of the vote in a win over Chris Stapleton's 'It Ain't the Whiskey.' That sets up a matchup with George Strait.

That would put him into the Showdown Hall of Fame for the first time, but Female Vocalist of the Year Kacey Musgraves is standing in his way with her five-star rated single 'Blowin' Smoke.'

A win in today's Showdown would put Blake Shelton one win away from the Hall of Fame. On Friday, the singer's new song 'Boys 'Round Here' made short work of 'He Loves to Make Me Cry' by Kristen Kelly. Fans will have a chance to vote for the new single from 'Based on a True Story ...' all day today, as well as tonight on Taste of Country Nights radio.
