Business 59 in Downtown To Be Closed in Sections for Resurfacing
It looks like we are seeing a little more road construction in Victoria. Here is the latest road constructions that could cause delays. As part of the Texas Department of Transportation’s ongoing BUS 59T resurfacing project,
Hunter Industries have begun pavement milling operations on BUS 59T between US87/Main St and the Moody St. river bridge today! The milling operations will be done in sections and will be performed at night, between the hours of 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM the following morning.
Expect delays when driving on this side of town. Pay attention! Workers and heavy equipment may only be a few feet from passing vehicles
Hunter Industries will work the milling operation in 5 different sections. Closing off three blocks will allow the contractor to navigate their milling machine and haul trucks into the work zone, without passenger vehicles passing close by on the remaining narrow lanes. Passenger vehicles will detour around the construction area of BUS 59 via city streets.
EMERGENCY VEHICLES AND 18 WHEELERS:
Emergency and delivery vehicles (box trucks, 18-wheelers, etc.) will be piloted on BUS 59 through the work area. Off-duty police officers will be staged at each end of the closed area to help enhance awareness of the work zone.
SCHEDULE OF CLOSURES:
Main St. (US 87) to 5 Points
5 Points to Commercial St.
Commercial St. to Constitution St.
Constitution St. to Church St.
Church St. to Water St.
Within the construction area, adjacent city streets will be closed to thru traffic.
