Bluebonnet Youth Ranch in Yoakum Announces New Name
There is some big news out of Yoakum, Texas this week as The Bluebonnet Youth Ranch has announced they are unveiling a name change.
The Bluebonnet Youth Ranch
Opening back in 1972, this South Texas nonprofit was one of the first providers of residential care for dependent, abused, and neglected children. Over the years the ranch has been a part of turning lives around for around 450 kids from 68 different Texas communities.

In a story shared by Don Brubaker with Crossroadstoday.com, the new name was unveiled this week after a new partnership was announced between the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch and South Texas Children Home. The changes will allow for even more children to receive care from the facility in Yoakum, and some of the changes also include that mothers of children needing assistance from Bluebonnet Ranch can also be cared for and educated on-site. With everything happening at the border this year many Federal and State law changes are being made when it comes to "Children's homes", even in Yoakum.
Helping Texas Kids Create A Better Future
Bluebonnet Ranch allows children to live at the ranch for free with the focus being on building a better life by giving these kids a chance at a normal life with opportunities for growth. In 2021, the Bluebonnet Youth Ranch sits on 50 acres with three cottages, one relief cottage, an administration building, an administrator cottage, a barn with animal pens, a woodworking shop, and even a sports complex. There is even a small lake for fishing on the property.
