Video: Skeeter Nash Sings “All You Ever Do Is Bring Me Down”

On Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, I made my debut as the "official" drummer for the Flag City Opry band in Edna, TX. It is truly an honor to get to play with such a fine group of musicians, and to get to back up all of the great singers and guests on the show! Here is a video of me singing a song that was a hit by the Mavericks back in 1996.

Skeeter Named Regular Drummer for Flag City Opry

Tomorrow night's Flag City Opry show in Enda will be my first after being asked to become the permanent drummer in the Flag City Opry band, and it is a real honor to have been asked by the show's manager/emcee, Charlie Kroll. It has been my pleasure to serve as a "fill-in" drummer at the Flag City Opry a few times over the past year, and the group of musicians that makes up rest of the Opry band are some of the finest with whom I have ever worked. I'm looking forward to many exciting upcoming shows, starting with tomorrow night's edition.

March 28th In Country Music History

1975: Dolly Parton racked up her fifth number one hit with "The Bargain Store."  The song's success was considered a surprise because some radio stations refused to play it.  They felt the lyrics -- "the bargain store is open, come inside"—were a little too “suggestive!"

1980: Tom T. Hall rejoined the Grand Ole Opry.

1993: Willie Nelson performed a benefit concert in Hillsboro, Texas to raise money for the restoration of Hill County Courthouse, which had been destroyed by fire.

Gary Allan, ‘Pieces’ – Song Review

If Gary Allan's chart-topper 'Every Storm (Runs Out of Rain)' was optimistic, his follow-up single 'Pieces' is downright plucky. The uptempo country-rocker may be the most contented single he's ever released.
