Paisley's first offering from his upcoming album took 55 percent of the online and phone voting, meaning he'll move on to face another song today.
Today's Showdown competitors will be glad to know they won't have to face Darius Rucker and his new song 'True Believers.' The hit was retired after winning five Showdowns in a row. This means he'll be placed in the Hall of Fame, along with a select group of country hits. It's two new competitors today and tonight Taste of Country Nights radio.

The singer's voice carries more weight in 2012 than it did in 2008 or 2004, and one senses that he's aware of his influence.
