1960: Loretta Lynn made her debut on the country charts with her first single release, "Honky Tonk Girl," on the Zero label.
1976: Country Music Hall of Fame member Eddy Arnold entered the charts with "Cowboy," his 100th country hit. He was the first artist to accumulate a three-digit figure of hits on that chart.
1982: George Strait's first number one single, "Fool Hearted Memory," was released. George recently scored his 60th chart-topper.
