The Shiner Comanches fell short of their bid to become the Class 1A, Division I State Champions, losing to the Stamford Bulldogs, 41-28. Stamford racked up 34 unanswered points in the second half of the game. On Shiner's final possession, an interception allowed the Bulldogs to regain the ball with 15 seconds left. Stamford's Gus West snagged the interception and knelt down at the Bulldogs' 21-yard line, allowing them to run out the clock and win the game. Shiner ends the season with an 11-4 record.

Congratulations to the Bulldogs, and thanks to the Shiner Comanches, their coaching staff, fans and supporters for making all of South Texas proud!
