If you love, respect, and enjoy San Antonio Bay, or would just like to learn more, then join the San Antonio Bay Partnership this Saturday for "San Antonio Bay Day"!

The San Antonio Bay Partnership is organizing the event to raise awareness of its efforts to protect, restore and enhance the environmental resources and human uses of San Antonio Bay. The event coincides with National Estuaries Day 2012 and is being coordinated with other coastal organizations in the region.

SA Bay Day activities will be held from 8 am to 2 pm:

• Guided tours for kayakers and stand-up paddlers
o 8 am – intermediate to advanced paddlers (kayakers and stand-up paddlers) take a 6-8 mile round trip to the SE corner of the Guadalupe Delta (3 to 4 hours)
o 9 am – beginner paddlers take a 2-4 mile paddle around the Seadrift area (2 to 3 hours)

• Birding/Nature Hike along beachfront (tentative)

• Informational booths and exhibits – Seadrift Pavilion

• Entertainment (tentative)

• Lunch (11 am – 1 pm)

Paddlers will be charged a $20 activity fee (payable at the event), will receive a T-shirt, and must register by emailing James Dodson (jdodson27@gmail.com). Kayakers must bring their own kayaks and stand-up paddlers must bring their own boards.
