Game 1 of the 2011 World Series is tonight on FOX.  The St. Louis Cardinals have 10 World Series Championships with the last one in 2006, while the Rangers are still looking for their first.

The National League won the All-Star game back in July so they will have home field advantage for the World Series.  The first 2 games are at Busch Stadium then the next 3 are at Rangers Ballpark Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  Then back to St. Louis Wednesday and Thursday for the final two games if needed.

C.J. Wilson takes the mound tonight for the Rangers.  He had an impressive season with an era of 2.04 for 2011 but off to a rocky start for the post season with a record so far of 0-2.

Chris Carpenter will start for the Cardinals with an era of 3.45 for the season and 2-0 during the post-season.

It will be a cold game tonight in St. Louis for game 1 of the 2011 World Series.  The Rangers vs. Cardinals!  Two teams with a powerhouse lineup.  A great match up and these two teams have only met once in inter-league play.  You can look at the advantages and disadvantages but both teams in my opinion are pretty equal.  I certainly didn't expect these two to be the final teams standing.

Go Rangers!
