Our First VIP Show of 2024 Features UT Student Jake Skelton

Our first VIP show of 2024 will feature the next generation of Country music!  For the first time in Victoria, Texas, it's Jake Skelton live on our VIP stage.  Jake is a current student at the University of Texas in Austin, Hook 'em Horns. The show will take place on Thursday, January 18th at 7 PM! 

Since this show will also include the next generation, this will be no alcohol show.  Del Papa Distributing will be showcasing some of their awesome non-alcoholic beverages in their lineup.  Be listening to the morning show to WIN VIP Passes or register below for your chance to win.

Who is or was your biggest influence?

1. My biggest influence has been my dad. Growing up, he would play for family and friends and I always wanted to emulate that and be able to provide entertainment for others.

How long have you been performing with guitar?

2. When I quit playing saxophone my parents insisted that I pick up another instrument, so my freshman year of high school I learned my first song on the guitar. During COVID, I practiced a lot more and that’s when I started playing for people.

What is your favorite aspect of the music you produce?

3. My favorite aspect of the music process is putting feelings into music. Writing a good song lyric or guitar lick that embodies the nature of a moment is something that drives me to continue to create.

What about your songwriting process?

4. Oddly enough, I often write songs when I should be doing something else like homework or cleaning. When I have a lot on my plate, and I feel like there are too many tasks in front of me, sitting down and writing clears my head.

What can our VIP audience expect at your upcoming show?

5. When I play, I want everyone around me to have a good time. My buddies and I would sit around and sing our favorite songs after a night out. Those moments of intimacy with friends, everyone singing along and not worrying about anything around them; those moments are what I try to create with my audiences.
