Lady Antebellum Help ASCAP Celebrate 100 Year Anniversary with ‘More Than the Stars’ – Song Premiere
Dave Haywood and Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum join over a dozen top songwriters and composers in a 100th birthday song and video for ASCAP, the professional membership organization of songwriters, composers and music publishers.
Kelley begins this clip for 'More Than the Stars, an anthem for music creators premiering exclusively on Taste of Country and three of our sister sites.
Ne-Yo, Dan Wilson, Bill Withers, Josh Kear, Amy Grant and Grammy-winning producer Stargate are also part of a project that came about unexpectedly during filming of 'Why We Create Music,' a documentary commissioned by ASCAP to celebrate 100 years. Kelley begins the song's vocals, while Haywood is seen playing banjo later in the video.
Filmmaker Michael Marantz directed the film and this music video. It's featured at the ASCAP website alongside an interactive timeline that revels 100 years of the organization's history. The organization's official 100th birthday is Feb. 13, 2014.
