You say you want to hear music? Live music? All genres of music? Then you're in luck. It seems like there is an abundance of chances to enjoy all sorts of live musical performances this time of year. You'll have another chance this Saturday at 7:30pm at the Goliad State Park.

The Beeville Community Chorus will present its annual spring concert at Mission Espiritu Santo De Zuniga in Goliad State Park under the direction of James Lee on Saturday. The Victoria Advocate reports the choir will present a program of sacred, patriotic, spirituals and Broadway show tunes. The concert will open with a performance of "Say It With Music," by American composer Irving Berlin. Rhythmic instruments will set the stage for the sacred song, "Let the People Sing Hosanna."

Jeff Brewer, assistant director of the choir, will direct two songs with text from the Bible, "O Magnify the Lord" and "Speak and We Will Hear."

Then a touch of Broadway will fill the mission chapel as the choir performs selections from the musical by Lerner and Lowe, "My Fair Lady." The choir will also perform a patriotic section in the concert including "Blades of Grass" and "Pure White Stones" and the "Because of the Brave."

Nona Schorp will accompany the choir on the piano.

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Goliad State Park, a half mile south of Goliad on U.S. Highway 183. Admission is only $3 per person. For more information call  361-645-3405.
