How many languages do you speak? Sometimes, one of the most important forms of communication, languages, if you will, is forgotten by the general public. I'm talking about sign language. Our friends at Goliad High School are doing something about that.

The third annual Signing Saturday will be from 2-5 p.m. Saturday at the Goliad High School auditorium. The sign language event, sponsored by the Goliad High School American Sign Language Council, will include songs, skits and other performances, all in sign language, said Kimann England, council sponsor. Voice interpreters will also be on hand for those who do not know sign language.

England is also the co-founder of Heart Sign, a nonprofit organization that provides classes, workshops, retreats and camps for anyone who has a need or desire to use sign language.

There is no charge to attend Saturday's event, but attendees are encouraged to bring a covered dish or baked good to share.
