I want to make sure everyone knows about the big event at The Texas Zoo this weekend. This Saturday is Gator Day featuring Gary Saurage of CMT’s Gator 911!
Gary Saurage is co-owner of Gator Country as well as the head alligator handler featured on CMT's GATOR 911. Saurage settled in Beaumont, Texas after a tour in the US Air Force where he started an 18 year career in law enforcement. Saurage then started a successful alligator guide/hunting service, which in turn led him to becoming a a conservationist and champion for the American alligator.
So I went to lunch with my coworker Kristin today and it happened again... a person trying to park as close as they can to me. This *#@&!! parks almost on top of me and then realizes they can’t get out of their own car!
Really? Go ahead and try to open that door! You think you're going to be able to fit in the 12 inches of space you left between our two cars?
Looking for a place to that says Family all over it head to Splashway Family Waterpark.
Splashway FAMILY Waterpark…Family says it all! Family oriented, family operated and promising you loads of family fun! The park attracts families of all ages throughout south-central Texas.

Wow! What a night at Breckinridge! If you didn't make it to the Rezfest this year, put it on your to do list for next year. The artists put on an awesome show. Kids, teenagers, adults, grandparents - all ages were there. 3,425 people attended.
At the start of the concert, there were fireworks and the National Anthem was sung. Glen Dry then announced that different youth groups came out the night before and prayed in each row of seats for the people that were there tonight. I thought to myself how moving it is that our youth did that.
If you have a little one, you will definitely want to read this.
I believe birthday parties are more important than holidays because it's that one day out of the year to celebrate just them and make them feel extra-special. I have a seven year old boy so we have had many birthday parties at different places over the years. Every year I look for somewhere better than last year. The best part about having the party away from the house is there is no clean up. Here are a few places below you could host your child's birthday party.
Easter is almost here. I can’t wait to have all the kids over hunting for eggs and my favorite part the confetti eggs. When I was a little girl, we used to always find the perfect batch of wildflowers and take pictures in them with our baskets and Easter Bunnies. My twin sister Kelly enjoys when our grandma fills Easter Eggs with money which sometimes are dollar bills in them to hunt. It’s quite a scene to see us big grandkids hunt eggs but boy, is it fun. Families all have different traditions for Easter. Here are a few traditions people have.
Facebook is the largest social network. I mean, is there really any others out there? And we all wonder what we did before it. Some of us update our status, some people pretend not to look at Facebook and won’t admit that they really do, all the time... stalking. And some us are actually using it as a tool to keep up to date with folks we wouldn’t otherwise have time to chat with on the phone as often as we’d like.
We will all admit we learn things about others. Sometimes, it's things we didn’t really want to know.
I just got done watching 'Secret Millionaire' and all I can say is WOW.
My dear friend Monica Lassmann had told me about the show and how touching it was so I decided to watch it. This week's show was about Gary and Diane Heavin who are the co-owners of 'Curves'.
Gary and Diane left their wealthy lifestyles behind to spend a week in Houston's poverty-stricken Third Ward. They were given $6.50 per day to use for food while they were on their journey.
A bet is a bet, right?
The Nasty Cookers BBQ Team entered a BBQ cook off at Colet Inn this past weekend. The cook off benefited LJ Chumchal, who is battling Hodgkins Lymphoma. The bet was that if the Nasty Cookers won, they would allow LJ to shave their heads.
Last week, many people headed to Houston to see the rodeo and see their favorite artist play live. One of our listeners, Vanessa Cantu, went to see Brad Paisley on Saturday with her husband, Oliver. Her favorite song is "Then" because it is their wedding song. Vanessa sees Brad as an artist who gets involved with the audeince and is a great live performer. She said, “He’s such a great person period!” They have seen him every year for the last 4 years and will continue to do so as long as he's there. I think Vanessa might be one of the biggest Brad Paisley fans.
Spring Break isn’t just for kids its for adults, too. Matt Apodackis is a guy who can pull off some crazy stuff... he rode a bike off a fishing pier into the lake this past Sunday. I think the funniest part was his first try when he didn’t make it to the lake and fell over. I felt bad for laughing because he was a little injured but he was a good sport and got back up and tried one more time. When he did finally did ride into the lake it was pretty funny. Here watch it for yourself.
