Workforce Solutions Helps Out of School Youths Graduate

The old advice to stay in school has never been more true these days, as the economy evolves into a more technological place, and more jobs require a good education. To help people in the Crossroads who are between the ages of 16 and 24 that might not have finished high school, a new program from Workforce Solutions of the Golden Crescent is designed to help.

“We couldn’t be more proud of the tireless work done in the schools of our region to make sure that every student can get to graduation day,” said Henry Guajardo, the Executive Director of Workforce Solutions. “But we also know that sometimes students face hardships that push them away from even the best schools, and we’re trying to make sure those young men and women know the gate hasn’t closed for them.”

In addition to the courses students need to complete their high school educations, the program includes opportunities for participants to earn credentials certifying their proficiency in areas including basic employability, digital literacy and manufacturing.

The program includes access to more than 200 online courses, 24-7 academic support from highly qualified teachers, personal academic coaches and tutors, and career transition counselors who stay with students throughout their education, training, and job placement.
