Girls and women of all ages are invited by the Calhoun Air Center to fly for free Saturday and Sunday at Victoria Regional Airport. The event commemorates Women of Aviation Worldwide Week. "Make sure to invite friends," Calhoun Air Center spokeswoman Jasmine Gordon told the Victoria Advocate in a news release. "Make it a girls' day out."

Women of Aviation Worldwide fosters diversity in aviation by celebrating history, raising awareness and sparking vocations among females, according to the release. One of the missions of the Calhoun Air Center flight school is to introduce youth to aviation. More than 250 girls and women took their first flights at the Women of Aviation Worldwide Week event last year.
