Getting a quick fast-food fix can be a disappointing adventure for those who do not eat meat; hope you enjoy sides because that is the majority of the options.

However, two of the biggest fast-food restaurants have just stepped up their game. New items have been added to some pretty popular places and these options are so delicious anyone can enjoy them.

Rollin' Out Green Options

The fried chicken mogul KFC and the hot dog franchise Wienerschnitzel have both recently added very unique dishes to their menu. Scroll down and check those options out PLUS, some very local vegan options in the Crossroads as well!

Let's start with Colonel Sanders. KFC is known for their finger-lickin' good chicken, but that doesn't mean much if poultry isn't on your platter. However, the Colonel just switched it upon us! KFC is now offering finger-lickin' good Beyond Fried Chicken.

What Is Beyond Friend Chicken?

According to a press release by KFC, "The plant-based Beyond Fried Chicken was developed by Beyond Meat exclusively for KFC. It’s packed with delicious flavor and the juicy satisfaction that you’d expect from KFC’s iconic fried chicken but in a plant-based option that still fingers lickin’ good."

It should be noted, the company does have a disclaimer "Not prepared in a vegan/vegetarian manner." Basically, they share the same fryer as the meat products. If that is something you are not comfortable with, steer clear. However, if you don't particularly mind, go for it!

The King of the Dogs

Another franchise hopping on the veggie wagon is none other than the hot dog chain: Weinerschnitzel. Known for their chili that they smother on everything, and now this hot dog icon has just extended their menu.

The New Addition

There's a new dog in town and it comes in 3 forms. Check out the newest dog at Weinerschnitzel as a "Backyard", Barbeque", or 'Chicago" veggie dog. Each is unique in its own way.

I will say, I have personally tried the Chicago veggie dog and it was good, but overall I would give it a 6.8 out of 10. The french fries were sad and the bun got pretty soggy towards the end. Still, I recommend trying them and seeing what you think!

The Green Table

Let's get local now. If you haven't seen this small bright green food truck sitting at the Restore parking lot, this is your sign to check it out. The Green Table is a 100% vegan food truck in victoria. Serving replica dishes of hamburgers, tortas, and most importantly tacos.

Their barbacoa tacos are so spot on it's insane. Vegans, meat-eaters, and everyone in between will enjoy this dish.

Blacksheep Baking

A new vegan option has come to Crossroads. The new Blacksheep Baking is 100% vegan and everything is made from scratch with a whole lotta love. Their goal is to make vegan sweets delicious and affordable for everyone. One thing about this place is they do not skimp on serving size, everything is pretty much JUMBO-sized.
