Today's meeting included a discussion about Governor Abbott's reopen safely orders for the state of Texas which remove the ability for local officials to make changes to the state orders at the local level. Victoria's local reopen safe orders will expire this week and the Governor's new order for the state will kick-in on Friday. That order will take effect at 12:01 AM on May 1st. Legally, the Governor's orders prohibit local jurisdictions from making any changes to the state's orders. Mayor McCoy gave an easy to follow recap in the video above.
