Today's meeting included a discussion about just how different the COVID-19 virus is from anything else that we have seen before in our history. Dr. McNeill reviewed the new symptoms that the CDC has added to its COVID-19 watch list and compared the COVID-19 symptoms to those of the flu. The exponential growth of the virus can only be slowed by social distancing, masks and face covers, and by staying home and staying safe.

The flu puts about 2% of those infected in the hospital. About 18% of individuals who come down with COVID-19 end up in the hospital.

As of Friday afternoon, Victoria County reported 1 new confirmed COVID-19 case, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to date to 115, with 44 of those cases still active, meaning they still have the virus. 69 of the total 115 have since recovered.
