Victoria Emergency Management Meeting 4-22-2020
Watch today's press conference from the Victoria Emergency Management Meeting in the Facebook live video above filmed by KIXS 108.
Today's meeting included a discussion about Victoria's new guidelines to safely reopen businesses and implementing social distancing while doing so.
Dr. McNeill implores the community to be vigilant about wearing masks/face coverings. If you go into a local business and find that employees or guests are not wearing masks you are advised to walk out and separate yourself from other people, especially if they are not taking precautions. Right now, wearing a mask is one of the only ways we have of slowing the spread of this virus which is most certainly still with us and will be for some time.
The OEM team has stressed that no amount of lockdown will be practical in helping us to isolate ourselves. The new Stay Safe and Reopen Responsibly order will go into effect at Midnight and be in place until at least April 30th if not longer.
As of Tuesday afternoon, The total number of confirmed cases to date in Victoria County is 96, the number of active cases is 34 and total recovered cases is 60. Numbers will be updated at the end of the day today at Victoriatxoem.org
Friday's 3 PM meeting will be carried by Townsquare Media radio stations on social media.
