Victoria College became the Crossroads area’s first institution of higher learning in 1925.

VC was first a part of Victoria Independent School District, and was located at Patti Welder High School, which is now Patti Welder Middle School.

Victoria College was the third junior college established in Texas, and was the first two-year institution in the state to be certified by the Texas Department of Education.

VC moved to its current location at 2200 E. Red River Street in the Fall of 1949.
