The Victoria Boys and Girls Club provides a safe, nurturing environment during the summer months when kids may be left on their own due to circumstances (work, etc...) at home.

When the school bell tolls for the last time, summer means fun for kids at the Victoria Boys & Girls Club. In years past between 50 and 60 kids have taken advantage of the variety of summer programs at the club.

"Kids are broken up in groups by age. There are a wide variety of activities to choose from,"  Marc Vendl, executive director of the club told the Victoria Advocate. Activities include arts and crafts, dodge ball, baseball, soccer, swimming and other sports programs.

The Boys & Girls Club summer program runs from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays from June 4 through Aug. 17. Breakfast and lunch are provided. See the Summer Fun Zone for more details on this and other summer opportunities in the Crossroads.
