News release from Victoria College---Victoria College’s Academy of Lifelong Learning will host an open house from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25 in Victoria College’s Student Center, Rooms A-D. The Academy of Lifelong Learning is a member-driven organization for active adults, offering classes and social activities for continued intellectual and personal growth. “The academy provides participants an excellent opportunity to engage in study, discussions and social interactions with no tests, grades or pressure—just fun,” said Ashley Lindsey, VC’s lifelong learning program specialist. “Activities also allow members to expand and share their knowledge while meeting new friends and forming new social networks.”

Annual membership dues are $50, which entitles the member to attend any of the courses and activities for a one-year period.

The open house will provide an opportunity for guests to join the academy, renew memberships, view the fall schedule and visit with some of the instructors.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the courses and activities slated for the fall:

  • Amateur Backyard Astronomy
  • Kayaking 101
