A high school coach from the Rcokwall Independent School District has been placed on leave! A pushup punishment may have gone too far. According to a letter that was sent to the parents of the players, several of the athletes were sent to the hospital with "some" being hospitalized.
As reported by FOX4NEWS.COM Coach John Harrell has been placed on administrative leave while the investigation is underway. The school’s head football coach is accused of requiring a group of football players to do a large number of pushups. What number that was, remains unknown. The school district has hired a "third party" to investigate the events that happened this past Friday, January, 6th, 2023.
According to the article, the school said the incident happened on Friday during an off-season football program. It didn’t say how many pushups the students had to perform, but a person who emailed FOX 4 said it was several hundred assigned as punishment. The letter did not mention how many went to the hospital and didn’t specify what was wrong with the students.
