‘Tomorrowland’ Reveals New Poster, Trailer Will Premiere Next Week
Tomorrowland is only a few months away and we still know very little about director Brad Bird’s new science fiction adventure. Although that may change in just a few days! Disney has revealed a new poster for the film and along with it, a date for the new trailer.
The new Tomorrowland trailer, which follows a mysterious teaser and an equally vague Super Bowl spot, is set to arrive online on Monday, March 9. The trailer will be revealed on Facebook as part of a live Q&A with Bird and writer/producer Damon Lindelof, which will give everyone a chance to ask questions like “When is The Incredibles 2 coming out?” and “What, exactly, went wrong with Prometheus?” while the filmmakers desperately attempt to bring everyone back on topic.
As for the new poster, it doesn’t show much that we haven’t seen before. Once again, the subject is that futuristic city on the other side of a beautiful field. But instead of Britt Robertson, it’s George Clooney and some anonymous young boy in the foreground. Since one of the things we do know about the film is that Clooney plays a former child genius turned jaded scientist, we can assume that the boy in the poster is Clooney’s younger self. Will he embark on a quest to reconnect with the joy and enthusiasm of his past? Of course he will.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Bound by a shared destiny, former boy-genius Frank, jaded by disillusionment, and Casey, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity, embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” What they must do there changes the world—and them—forever.
Tomorrowland opens on May 22. Check back here on Monday to watch the new trailer.
