Theatre Victoria Announces Cancellation of Musical Matilda
Update July 20th - As the coronavirus continues to cause concern over some live events the folks at Theatre Victoria have announced the cancellation of Matilda the Musical at the Ethel Lee Tracy Amphitheater.
As reported by Crossroadstoday.com, if you purchased tickets you have a few options.
The theater will gladly accept your ticket purchase as a donation to Theatre Victoria. During a time when so many businesses are hurting, this may be a great decision for any wishing to support our home town theater.
Theatre Victoria allows for tickets to be turned in toward comps at future shows. You can contact the theater for comp options.
You can request a refund via email by reaching out to loria@theatrevictoria.org. Refunds minus any processing fees may take up to four weeks to process. If you wish to choose this option you must do so by August 15th at 5 PM.
If you are a Flex Pass Holder, the Matilda tickets will be returned to your pass and can be used to select a different show during the next season.
If you're looking for something FUN to do with your children this summer, look no further!
We've seen some positive things come out of social distancing these last few months as families were brought closer together, we all learned how to ZOOM and we created tons of out of the box ideas on how to make social distancing work -JUST LIKE THIS-Theatre Victoria will host its FIRST outdoor musical (at least in recent memory), of Roald Dahl's Matilda the Musical at the Ethel Lee Tracy Amphitheater!
According to Theatre Victoria, Matilda the Musical is "Inspired by the twisted genius of Roald Dahl, this Tony Award-winning musical is the captivating masterpiece from the Royal Shakespeare Company that revels in the anarchy of childhood, the power of imagination and the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life."
After submitting video auditions, Theatre Victoria chose two Matildas; Ms. Myla Barrientos and Ms. Lorelei Walker, alongside John Michael Urbano to play the dreaded Mrs. Trunchbull!
Performances start July 24th through August 2nd.
