The Victoria Police Department Swears in Two New Officers
The Victoria Police Department has recently welcomed two police officers to the force. Congratulations to Daniel Ruiz and J.T Smith, who were sworn in on March 11th in a ceremony at the City Hall Courtyard.
The new officers now begin a 16-week field training program alongside field training officers. After successfully completing this program, they will patrol the city streets and respond to calls for service independently. Thank you for your services, gentlemen.
The City Secretary April Hilbrich, left, administers the Victoria Police Department oath of office on March 11 to new officers Daniel Ruiz and J.T. Smith, middle, and other VPD officers in attendance during an outdoor ceremony at the City Hall courtyard, 105 W. Juan Linn St.
Our local law enforcement has been hard at work lately. On Tuesday, the Victoria County Sheriff's Department. conducted a traffic stop on a truck and flatbed trailer. Taskforce members present included the Victoria Sheriff’s Office Interdiction Unit and Victoria Police Department.
During the traffic stop, officers contacted the driver, Antonio Alonzo of Weslaco. During their traffic investigation Taskforce members located a false compartment within the frame of the trailer
A big thank you going out to all law enforcement for putting our own safety in front of theirs. Thank you for your service!
