Victoria and the Crossroads were very fortunate to be on the west side of the storm with very little impact. Just 30 miles up Highway 59 in Ganado, there are reports of downed power lines and flooding.
More than 2.6 million homes and businesses are without power in the Houston area and surrounding counties, according to poweroutage.us. Some areas of Houston have already received almost a foot of rain. Our Prayers go out to all in the path of this dangerous storm.
Beryl made landfall as a Category 1 Hurricane near Matagorda, Texas around 4 a.m. Monday with maximum sustained winds of 80 mph. It continued moving northeast through the Houston metro area and was downgraded to a tropical storm around 10 a.m.
