The Texas Rangers know how bad you want to get out and enjoy some live music. They also know you want to be able to enjoy the show safely. We are in uncharted territory these days so everyone is up for new ideas. How about a concert in your car?

The Texas Rangers think this will do nicely and have invited Texans to Globe Life Park June 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th for a boot-stomping' drive-thru concert. Much like the drive-in movies, you'll be able to watch the concert in your car an listen to it coming right over the radio. Concert goers will receive a designated parking spot for each 1-hour performance. Sponsor Quick Trip will be allowed to sell 400 parking spaces for each day's concert.  Just remember to wear your mask and to 'social distance' when you head off to the restroom (that line could be a mile). DFW.CBS.com reports the line up as follows:

  • June 4th: The Eli Young Band
  • June 5th: Whiskey Myers
  • June 6th: Pat Green
  • June 7th: Josh Abbott Band & Kevin Fowler

Texas Ranger fans who attend the show will get their first look at the new Globe Life Field which was completed back in March. Christ Stapleton was supposed to be the first artist to play the venue but COVID-19 had other ideas.

Instead, the first events at Globe Life will be several North Texas high school graduations in the days ahead of the concert weekend.

While there is still no word on when we might get the Rangers back on the field, MLB Owners are discussing playing an 81 game season set to begin on or near July 4th. My fingers are sure crossed. If they do start playing baseball, they'll likely do it without fans in the stands for a while.
