It's time to frantically check your pockets if you played the lotto on Wednesday night because somebody in Texas won an estimated $18.75 million big ones.

Someone in Texas Won Big

Have you ever noticed that the longer you stare at a lotto ticket funny things start to happen? As a kid, I can remember my Uncle Ron saying "If you stare at it long enough the numbers change". Well, to this day I have never won anything but scratch tickets and my record is a lowly $100 winner that I scratched on Christmas Eve one year. Not a bad day to pick a winner, eh?

Let me guess, You went to Dallas to watch the Mavs and bought a lotto ticket?

Well, if you happen to have been traveling in North Texas on Wednesday the Texas Lottery says the winning ticket was purchased at an Xpress Food & Fuel station in Plano. KWTX reports that the winning numbers on the ticket are 22-33-44-45-47-54. The missing ticket matched all six numbers. With a prize of $18.75 million, the cash payment would mean a take-home of $14,259,272.66. That would be prior to any taxes.

Like with any winning ticket, the winner will have 180 days to search through all their laundry and all those little places in their car where a ticket might get places when leaving a gas station in a hurry to run home and watch the Dallas Mavericks. Maybe that is why Kawhi threw up an airball to end the game last night. He realized he misplaced his Texas lotto ticket.

Advice to the Big Winner

With all the amazing lotto wins I have seen as a member of the media over the years, the advice is the same. Sign the ticket and put it someplace safe. Avoid telling anyone about your winnings until you have had a chance to seek some financial advice, and be sure to contact the Texas Lottery to schedule a time to claim your prize. We hope the winner discovers the good news soon. I know we had listeners in Dallas last night to see the Mavericks game so I really hope one of you stopped in Plano last night and gets to claim the prize!
