If you're looking for some fun in the most Texan way, then two Texas towns have got you covered. Coming up in April there are two Bluebonnet Festivals taking place. Depending on which side of i35 you stay on, you may end up at the Offical Bluebonnet Festival in Chappell Hill, Texas, or maybe find yourself in the little and loveable town of Burnet at their very own annual Bluebonnet Festival.

If you happen to be heading to Burnet from the Crossroads, then just jump on Hwy 87 down to Cuero and then make that right on 187 all the way down for a few hours. The mini-road trip will take you past Luling, Austin, and you'll curve around Round Rock till you end up in Bluebonnet headquarters.

Burnet is the town that throws an annual festival honoring the best flower of all, that's right, those bright, wild Texas bluebonnets. The blue beauties are a beloved Texas treasure; families pack up in their vehicles and scouring areas just to take a photo in bluebonnet fields, so it's no surprise that a Texas city has dedicated an entire weekend to the state flower.

The city throws the Bluebonnet festival once a year, and this year it will be April 9th through the 11th. To celebrate the wildflower, the city has jam-packed the festival full of fun events. You can bring the family for a day full of fun or grab some buds for an incredible night out.

For the Kids:
It's their time to shine! Let the kids channel all their creativity in the Children’s Bicycle Decorating Contest. Be as unique as you'd like; break out the glue and get to pasting. There will also be other activities like sack races, spoon races, & other dashes for kids to get all their energy out and have a blast.

For Everyone:
Let me pull myself together so I can announce something; this is so exciting. Coming from the crazy dog lady, I am so psyched to announce the festival has a Pet Parade! The festival's website states that any well-behaved pet is welcomed to join; yes, even your pet ferret. In past parades, owners have dressed their beloved animals up in the latest fashion wear or had matching outfits with their pets-sign me up! If that doesn't satisfy your animal obsession, maybe the Weiner Dog Races will on Sunday.

There will be live music Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. A classic car show will also take place on Saturday along with Wild West-style shoot-outs-pew pew!

For the Grown Folks:
Grab some buds and maybe have a bud! The Bluebonnet Festival has their 'Bluebonnet Biergarten' serving up ice cold beer and Bluebonnet blue wine-aritas-go ahead and call me an Uber.
