The "Smokin' for Heroes Barbeque Cookoff" begins Friday and runs through the weekend at the Victoria Community Center parking lot. It is IBCA sanctioned and Texas Championship sanctioned. The grand champion qualifies for American Royal, receives a draw into the Jack Daniels Cook-Off as well as will represent Victoria County at the Houston Livestock Show 2015.

Thousands of flags flutter in the wind, a white glow brightening the corner of Mockingbird Lane and Sam Houston Highway with a sea of vibrant red, white and blue. Field of Honor, which runs through June 3 - particularly for Warrior's Weekend - places American flags in honor of veterans alive, veterans who died and veterans who never came home. A couple of powerful tribute events are coming to the Crossroads area in May. Warrior's Weekend and the Warrior's Weekend Field of Honor will pay tribute to those who have served our country in uniform, and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice of their lives in defense of this nation, and the cause of freedom around the world.

Johnny Dee and the Rocket 88's will be at the Victoria Community Center, 2905 E. North St. from 7 p.m. until Midnight on Friday, June 28th to benefit Warrior's Weekend!

Victoria Jaycees will be hosting the Smokin for Heroes Cook Off benefiting Warriors Weekend. It will be in the back parking lot of the Victoria Community Center with judging taking place inside the Victoria Jaycee Hall.

After a year of planning and more than $350,000 later, about 700 soldiers and their families will arrive in the Crossroads on Friday for Warrior's Weekend 2013.

Warrior's Weekend is presenting "The Parade That Never Was," honoring Vietnam veterans, at 10 a.m. Oct. 13 in downtown Victoria. Vietnam veterans and veterans from the Vietnam era, as well as Gold Star families who lost loved ones in the Vietnam War, are invited to participate in the parade.

There will be a Warrior's Weekend, Heroes Thunder Run Car Show at the Victoria Community Center on Saturday starting around 10 a.m.  If you want to just go check out some beautiful rides or if you actually have one of your own you would like to show off all cars are welcome...

It's the summer concert season and , wow, do have a lot of them for you this year. Coming up on Friday and Saturday, June 17th and 18th, at the Community Center Grounds in Port O'Connor, it's the Slam and Jam Fishing Tournament and Concert to benefit Warrior's Weekend.
