The 'Wake Up Port Lavaca!' community breakfast will be at 7:30am Tuesday at the Bauer Community Center, 2300 state Highway 35 in Port Lavaca. It's presented by the Port Lavaca Chamber of Commerce. Bob Turner, Port Lavaca City Manager, will be the featured. Turner will provide a "State of the City" update.
"Texas Uh Ohs" is excited to announce the addition of their 6U and 8U teams. They will be looking to fill roster spots for both teams. Looking for girls born 2009 & 2010 for 6U and 2007 & 2008 for 8u. There will be an open practice/try out on Saturday August 29th in Port Lavaca from 9am-11am. Field location TBD.

The 'Our Lady of the Gulf Catholic Church Capital Campaign Fundraiser', Run for the Son, is Saturday at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 5287 Farm to Market Road 3084 in Port Lavaca. The event includes a 1 mile walk/run for kids and adults for $25 per person and a traditional 5K fun run/walk for $30 per person.
