This is yet another reason I am proud to now call Texas my home! In Cypress, TX (near Houston), during the pledge of allegiance and moment of silence that opened Friday’s school day at Cy-Fair High School. It is one of the most easily-identified flags out of all 50 state flags in the U.S. The lone white star, set in a field of blue (representing loyalty), alongside white (representing strength) and red (for bravery). This Saturday, January 25, 2014, will mark the 175th anniversary of the official adoption of the current Texas flag design.
