Texas is prone to many weather-related disasters like tornadoes throughout the years that have caused widespread destruction.

The Governor signed House Bill 2127, which will go into effect on September 1. This bill will nullify any local city ordinances that require water breaks for employees who work in the heat and prevent any local jurisdiction in the state from passing such laws in the future.

Last Thursday, a skunk in the Mission Oaks neighborhood in Victoria County tested positive for rabies. Mission Oaks is in northwest Victoria County, off Upper Mission Valley Road. Officials say residents should watch for weird acting skunks. Weird acting or not, its probably a good idea to watch out for skunks.

If this bug enters a dog, it could be fatal. As of now, there is no vaccine nor are there many treatments once infected.
