Registration may be closed for this weekend but, that doesn't mean you can't still enjoy the Texas Mile as a spectator this weekend.

This event happens twice a year at Chase Field in Beeville, and drivers come from all over the U.S., Canada and Mexico to put the pedal to the metal, and in fact race teams build special cars just for the event, that reach speeds well over 200 mph. But it's not only the fastest cars in the world, the event is open to a number of different classes.

Want to see what it's like to drive at speeds approaching 300 mile per hour? Check out the Ford GT that set the record last spring at 279.9 mph. Impressive!
