South Texas Water Park Abruptly Closes Permanently
Over the weekend, news started to circulate that Hurricane Alley Waterpark closed permanently! The news was shared on the Hurricane Alley Facebook page on Friday, February 6, 2026. Hurricane Alley opened in 2012 and served the Coastal Bend and South Texas areas for 15 years.
Will Hurricane Alley Waterpark will have new owners soon?
The question now becomes: "What will happen to the fully developed waterpark?" It is located adjacent to Whataburger Field, home of the Corpus Christi Hooks. I think it will be just a matter of time before the park has new owners. It would not feel right not seeing this as part of the Corpus Christi skyline.
@bugssstar sad to see it close after 15 years serving the corpus Christi community 😢 #cctx#news#sad#closing#local♬ original sound - bugss
I find the news shocking considering the new Harbor Bridge has just opened and growth is on the rise in Corpus.

Have you driven over the new Harbor Bridge?
The new Harbor Bridge has been open in Corpus now for over 6 months and it is an upgrade the was dearly needed. Not only does it look better, but it has upgraded some of the more rundown areas near downtown. It also looks really cool at night when light up by the LED lights.
