Sophomore Hits Dramatic Grand Slam To Bring State Title for Weslaco

I have seen this grand slam at least 30 times and it still gives me chills! Let me start out by saying that I don't live in Weslaco or follow the team. However, this is a moment that any baseball fan can appreciate!

Heading into the final inning, Weslaco High Panthers were down 9-3 to Waco Midway. This was the Class 6A state title game Saturday at McCombs Field in Austin. Weslcao managed to get the bases loaded for Sophomore shortstop, Andrea Ortiz.  She crushed the ball over the left-field wall leading the Panthers to their first-ever state softball championship! The moment is INCREDIBLE. Here it is just in case you haven't seen it yet or want to watch it again.

This incredible campus is  Walnut Grove High School campus in Prosper, Texas, located North of Dallas. This high school facility is more impressive than some college campuses.   The gym looks like a college court, the food court looks like a mall.
