School Nurse, Dental Professional Conferences at VC

News release from Victoria College---Registration is underway for two conferences offered at Victoria College for Crossroads-area healthcare professionals.

The 20th Annual School Nurse Conference will be held Thursday, Aug. 6, and the Crossroads Area Dental Conference will be held on Friday, Aug. 7. Both conferences will be presented at the Conference & Education Center at VC’s new Emerging Technology Complex. "The School Nurse Conference will provide important information such as addressing challenges, interventions and interactions in an effort to improve the care of school-aged children,” said Marilyn Powell, VC allied health coordinator & instructor.

The registration fee for each conference is $65 and includes instructional materials and lunch. The deadline to register for the School Nurse Conference is Tuesday, Aug. 4.

The School Nurse Conference is presented by VC’s Workforce & Continuing Education Department and DeTar Healthcare System and is supported by the Region 3 Education Service Center and VISD School Health Services.

The Crossroads Area Dental Conference is sponsored by Victoria College and the Guadalupe Valley District Dental Society. The deadline to register for this conference is Wednesday, Aug. 5.

Participants in both conferences will be awarded seven contact hours as part of his or her professional continuing education. VC’s Emerging Technology Complex is located at 7403 Lone Tree Road in Victoria.
