So, how would you spend $32.25 MILLION dollars?

Well, that is the very question on the minds of Texans everywhere as the countdown to the LARGEST jackpot prize in the country ( make that CONTINENT) inches its way to SATURDAY, August 15th as Lotto Texas players prepare their hearts and minds for a BIG WIN. Fingers crossed.

On Wednesday, August 12th, Texans held their breath with $31.25 million on the line but no winners were announced, adding to the whopping pot, which now boasts a record $32.25 million.

Will Saturday present a winner?

All players have to do is pick 6 numbers from 54. Easy right? Well, let's look at these statistics provided by King5.com from various entities like the CDC. "According to the CDC, you are about 30,000 times more likely to get injured in your bathroom, a 1 in 10 thousand chance, compared to winning the Mega Millions jackpot. The National Weather Service Data shows you're about 250 times more likely to be struck by lightning this year with odds of 1 in 1,171,000."

AND, my favorite, according to the Florida Shark Museum... "a 'Jaws' scenario, or death by shark attack, is 80 times more likely to occur with odds of about 1 in 3,748,067.

Still, someone must win some of the time or why else would we play?

Well... Cleveland19 hosted an interview with Cleveland Clinic, Dr. McKee, who says, "Playing the lottery is good for the brain. especially when it comes to social interaction with friends and co-workers. It gives a lot of people hope. It gives a lot of people dreams and excitement even if they know it's a fantasy, it's a wonderful chance to indulge a fantasy," explains McKee. "Believe it or not, those same fantasies, what they do to your brain, is much like something else you fantasize about."

I'm sure you can guess what that fantasy is.

No matter why you play, we hope you win!
