The recent rainfall in the Crossroads and upstream has caused the Guadalupe River to rise. Minor flooding is currently occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. At 9:15 AM CST Thursday(1/25/24) the stage was 24.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 21.0 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 28.4 feet late Saturday morning. It will then fall below the flood stage Monday morning. The flood stage is 21.0 feet.

FLOODING IMPACTS:

At 28.5 feet, Moderate lowland flooding occurs. Water flows over the road at Red River and Bluff Intersection. Water may be flowing over the intersection of Craig and Constitution. The access to homes near Club Westener may be affected. Areas west of Moody Street between Water and Constitution Street may be impacted. Water is at the edge of Spring Creek Drive at the railroad underpass. The old town area may be threatened. The McCright Drive loop behind the baseball stadium may have water covering the road.

Just in case you didn't remember, the Guadalupe crested in Victoria at 33.85 feet at 2 p.m. that Tuesday afternoon, October 20, 1998. The flood stage is 21 feet. While those numbers were high, Cuero had it much worse. The Guadalupe River in Cuero crested at 49.8 feet in Cuero,  flood stage is 20 feet.
