Having fun while learning is the objective of Victoria College's Kids College courses this summer. Registration is now open for the classes, which run July 14 to 17 at VC's main campus. "This year, we are excited to partner with Fastforward Kids, a company from Spring Branch, which will conduct VC's Kids College classes," Sherri Pall, VC Workforce and Continuing Education director, told the Victoria Advocate. "It offers a way for kids to tap into their creative side in a fun learning environment." Pall said this year's Kids College courses have been reconfigured to include Lego classes for two age groups. She anticipates the Lego Mania class for children ages 4 to 7 to be among the most popular Kids College offering. This innovative class for Lego buffs provides opportunities for imagination and hands-on learning under the guidance of a certified educator.

The Jumpstart Kindergarten will give children ages 4 to 6 a chance to get a head start in the reading experience. An interactive reading time introduces small, controlled vocabulary to help preschoolers on their journey to becoming readers.

Another new activity this year is Fashion Designer, geared for girls 8-12. Youngsters can sketch and design apparel using patterned papers, ribbons, sequins, jewels and other embellishments.
