Powerball Jackpot Soars to $875 Million for Monday Night
Are you feeling lucky tonight? If so, you might want to buy a Powerball ticket for tonight (12/8/25). The estimated jackpot has soared to $875 million with a cash option of $403 million. This current jackpot ranks as the 7th-largest Powerball jackpot ever.
It's been a minute since someone has hit the Powerball.
Tonight is the 40th consecutive drawing with no top winner. The last winning jackpot tickets were sold on September 6 and were split by two winners in Missouri and Texas. They split a $1.78 billion prize. Wow!
What happens if you win the Powerball jackpot?
Tonight's winner will have the choice between an annuitized prize estimated at $875 million or a lump sum payment estimated at $403.6 million. Both prize options are before taxes.
If you select the annuity payment, you will receive an immediate payment followed by 29 yearly payments that will increase 5% every year.
Side note: both of these options stated are before taxes. You know, Uncle Sam will get his cut.
When are the Powerball Jackpot drawings?
Powerball drawings are every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Florida Lottery draw studio in Tallahassee, Fla. Powerball drawings are also live-streamed on Powerball.com.
