Port Aransas Mayor is No Longer Enforcing Beach Closure
In a story reported by KRIS-TV, the mayor of Port Aransas has announced the City will no longer enforce the county order that prohibits (does not allow) vehicles on country beaches. Mayor Charles Bujan says that the city has depleted all of its overtime budget for this year!

Mayor Bujan made the announcement via Facebook.
Previously, the Port Aransas Police Department had patrolled the beaches 24/7 to catch people violating this order. The ban was originally put in place to help stop the spread of COVID-19!
Here are the latest COVD-19 numbers for Victoria County, as of Monday evening (8/10/20) There is a total of 1,109 active cases and 2,388 recovered cases. Unfortunately, there have been 52 COIVD related deaths. Please continue to do your part to help slow the spread. STAY SAFE VICTORIA!
