In the recent rash of confirmed positive cases of COVID-19 in the Victoria county community, Formosa Plastics in Point Comfort has two confirmed cases of COVID-19 among contract employees now.

Headquartered out of Livingston, New Jersey, Formosa's Point Comfort location is home to sixteen production units situated on on 2,500 acres as a petro-chemical complex.

Founded in 1978, Formosa Plastics, employs over 3,000 personnel and is considered an " essential critical workforce" according to CISA guidelines.

According to Crossroads Today, Formosa Plastics was asked how the 22.3 billion dollar company who employee over 1,900 citizens in our community are protecting their employees and the facility. Formosa responded with, " We have implemented comprehensive procedures to reduce the spread of the illness, including enhanced guidelines for hygiene, social distancing, work scheduling and travel restrictions."

Formosa already adheres to strict OSHA guidelines for safety and wellness. The identity of the two employees will remain anonymous due to HIPAA privacy regulations.
